ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke County and the Virginia Department of Transportation are working out plans to connect the Greenway from Roanoke City to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The section would go through the river gorge towards the Niagra Dam, before heading under the Blue Ridge Parkway. This would connect the Roanoke River Greenway from Salem to Explore Park.
