LYNCHBURG, Va – Earlier tonight, the Lynchburg city council voted to extend the city’s youth curfew.
The curfew prohibits anyone under eighteen from being out after 11:00 P.M. and before 5 A.M. in an effort to reduce youth crime
The curfew passed in a six to one vote with councilman Chris Faraldi voting against.
“I’ve had a longstanding point of opposition to a curfew for a variety of reasons. I’ve articulated it from a philosophical approach to government. I see no difference between a curfew and a mask.” Councilman Faraldi said during the meeting.
The curfew has already been extended twice before, and council members are set to review the issue again in six months.
