WATCH: New bus route connects Danville to North Carolina

DANVILLE, Va. – A new bus service, the Triad-Danville Connector, is now providing easier access between Danville and cities in North Carolina. The route, which began operation on Jan.15, connects Danville to Reidsville, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem.

The Triad-Danville Connector will operate twice daily—once in the morning and again in the afternoon—seven days a week. According to market studies and public feedback, the route to the Triad region was identified as one of the most desirable transportation options.

Brennan Fuqua, director of the Integrated Mobility Division at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), emphasized the benefits of the new service. “It really gives the flexibility for those who don’t want to drive or those who can’t, whether due to limited access to a vehicle or other reasons. it really opens up another layer of public transportation options.”

The buses are ADA-compliant and include restroom facilities. They will also stop at safe locations with clear guidance for passengers.

Fares for the new route range from $4 to $12, depending on the distance traveled.
