No Kid Hungry is helping expand access even further into 2025 with new school nutrition grants. RCPS, Montogomery Co. Public Schools and SCPS were awarded money as part of that expansion.
In Southwest Virginia, No Kid Hungry recently awarded $48,024 to select school districts to support and expand non-congregate breakfast programs, 10 News has learned.

According to No Kid Hungry Virginia, the grant is part of a larger $201,000 initiative benefiting 10 school districts across the state, aimed at ensuring students are better prepared each day.
The funding will empower school nutrition teams to implement flexible Breakfast After the Bell initiatives, including grab-and-go meals, breakfast in the classroom, and second-chance breakfast models.
The following school districts received grants:
· Roanoke City Public Schools – $23,024
· Montgomery County Public Schools – $20,000
· Salem City Public Schools – $5,000 into
