Two adults displaced, and two pets dead after Roanoke County House Fire Wednesday

ROANOKE, Va. – Two adults are displaced and two pets are dead after a house fire in Roanoke County Wednesday afternoon, according to the ROCO Fire Dept.

Officials responded to the 4400 block of Waters Lane in the Masons Cove area at 3:37 p.m. for the reports of a structure fire.

When crews arrived on scene heavy smoke could be seen in the area and the call was upgraded to a working fire. Chief 10 from the Masons Cove Volunteer FD was the first unit on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from the two-story home.

10 News has learned that the fire was put under control in 40 minutes, the home was occupied by two adults and three dogs. ROCO FD said two dogs died and one is alive, there were no injuries to the adults.

The occupants have been displaced and are staying with family in the area. The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently on scene to investigate the cause and provide a damage estimate.
