Drivers asked to avoid Boonsboro Road in Lynchburg as crews repair water main break

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Drivers are asked to avoid the 3800 block of Boonsboro Road in Lynchburg as crews work to repair a water main break.

Lynchburg Water Resources stated that Boonsboro Road will be temporarily closed to traffic between Link Road and Somerset Drive. A detour for drivers, including emergency vehicles, is currently in place.

If you experience air or discolored water in your waterlines, you’re asked to run cold in a bathtub for three to five minutes until the water clears up. Authorities advised against running hot water.
