VSP investigating fatal single-vehicle crash in Bland County Tuesday

BLAND CO., Va. – The Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that killed one and injured another in Bland County Tuesday.

According to the department, the crash occurred just past midnight on Tuesday on Sugar Bottom Road. A homemade off-road vehicle was heading southbound on Sugar Bottom Road, not far from the intersection with Waddle Town Road, when the vehicle went off the left side of the road.

According to VSP, the vehicle overturned once and both the driver and passenger were ejected as the vehicle came to rest at the ditch line.

The driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as 54-year-old Bradley Davis, of Bland died at the scene. the passenger, who has been identified as 55-year-old Roberta Davis of Bland, suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
