Roanoke Valley Habitat for Humanity issues statement following Jimmy Carter’s death

ROANOKE, Va. – The Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley issued a statement regarding the death of Jimmy Carter on Sunday.

“Our affiliate joins Habitat organizations across the globe in honoring the late President Jimmy Carter for his contributions to Habitat for Humanity and families around the world. We are deeply saddened by President Carter’s passing, and our prayers are with... the Carter family.”

WSLS 10 has paired with Habitat for Humanity many times in order to build homes around our region, with one currently being built on Bullit Avenue.

Jimmy Carter and his late wife, Rosalynn, worked with Habitat for Humanity for decades in order to build homes around the U.S. and other countries.

HFHRV also announced their 40th Anniversary “Community House” will have funds committed by Habitat-Roanoke supporters in honor of President Carter. The House is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
