ROANOKE, Va. – There’s an urgent need to help shelter pets find homes before the new year.
The Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection is at capacity, so they held an emergency adoption event Saturday afternoon.
They also got a boost from Angels of Assisi, which held an event of its own.
“Yesterday we were lucky enough to have Angels of Assisi stop by our shelter, and they were able to take 19 cats and 18 dogs to their facility… It’s really important that the community comes together, and just help out where you can”
Anna Riccio, RCACP
If you missed Saturday’s adoption event, the pets will still be available at the shelter Mondays - Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m.
