SOUTH BOSTON, Va – Christmas came early this year for pastor John Coles, as he can hear clearly for the first time in a long time.
Coles and his wife discovered the issue at a free hearing screening where he was able to also try on a pair of hearing aids but couldn’t afford the price.
That’s where Megan Duffy comes in.
“His story just touched me, so he’s a pastor, my dad is a pastor, my father-in-law is a pastor,” said Duffy, a licensed hearing instrument specialist at HearingLife. “And I distinctly remember when I put my demo hearing instruments on his ears, his wife said, ‘how do they sound? How does it sound?’ and he says, ‘just beautiful. It sounds beautiful.’”
HearingLife, a hearing health center with a location in South Boston offered Coles a pair of free hearing aids through their twelve days of giving campaign.
He got his pair earlier this afternoon and told Duffy the new hearing aids sound beautiful.
