HENRY CO., Va. – Virginia will soon be gaining a new State Park. People turned out to speak at a public information meeting on the future of Mayo River State Park Monday.
The 657-acre property is located in Southwestern Henry Co. Near the Virginia-North Carolina border.
Park Rangers say they will work with North Carolina’s park leaders, who have their own Mayo River State Park.
“This is exactly what we live for as park rangers we want to see unique properties that have value to the commonwealth preserved so that citizens not only from virginia but from across the region can come out and enjoy them,” Adam Layman, Park Manager at Fairy Stone State Park said.
Project leaders say they want to get input from people about what they want to see and you can find more information here.
