There are about 800 children who are ready for adoption in Virginia. They are ready to find a permanent and loving forever family. 10 News is highlighting one child who needs a home every day in November during 30 Days of Hope. The children are of all ages and races and were put into foster care due to no fault of their own. 2024 marks the eighth year 10 News is doing this series.

Samantha is welcoming, charismatic, funny, and is ready to find those who are willing to be a part of her journey.
“If I could have a superpower it would be seeing what people think, reading people’s minds, only when I want to,” said the 16-year-old. “My favorite holiday is my birthday because I’m growing up.”
The teen dreams of being a pediatrician because she likes kids. She’s also good at making friends.
“My friends would describe me as outgoing and talkative. I like to hang out with them, go shopping,” said Samantha. “Something that’s important to me: Relationships, loyalty and trust.”
She loves singing along in the car too.
“If I could go on vacation anywhere that’s kind of hard because I want to go everywhere. I want to go on a cruise,” said the teen.
Her favorite subject was math, until she found geometry.
“She’s ready to find a parent who’s willing to be part of her journey and a family.
“What I hope for in a family is them to accept me for who I am and work with me,” said Samantha. “Some things I would like to do with a family are to spend time with them and acknowledge that I have a family now. I’m just really looking forward to getting adopted by a family.”
She wants to feel loved and have someone who will always be there for her.
