ROCKY MOUNT, VA – Lace up your sneakers and put on your capes—it’s time for the Johnny CASA 5k and 5 Miler next Saturday, December 21, in downtown Rocky Mount!
This superhero-themed event features a 5-mile run, 5K run, and 5K walk, all with a downhill start and finish.
Emceed by 10 News’ Jenna Zibton, the race promises fun with food, music, giveaways, and medals. Every participant will also receive a purple race t-shirt, perfect for showing off your inner hero.
Proceeds benefit the Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center, which supports children affected by violence, offering them access to mental health services and a safe space to speak out.
Event organizer Johnny Nolan and CASA Executive Director Joyce Moran joined 10 News Anchor Abbie Coleman in studio Saturday to talk about the event.
