ROANOKE, Va. – Crews are making progress building a Home for Good in Southeast Roanoke as WSLS 10 is once again partnering with Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley.
On Saturday, volunteers from Coca-Cola Consolidated spent time working on our latest Habitat project.
Construction on Bullit Avenue kicked off in August and the hope is that it will be ready by January.
Volunteers working on the home say it’s a good chance to give back.
“It’s a good thing for young folk if they ain’t got nothing to do, and if they need to learn some of these skills. ‘Cause once you learn it, it’s yours. It’s a good thing to help the community out”
Ronald Shears, Lead Personel at Coca-Cola Consolidated
25-year-old Madina Musa, whose family immigrated to the U.S. from Kenya, will be the new homeowner.
This will be our 10th home build in the Star City.
