22-year-old man dead after single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. – One person is dead after a crash in Montgomery County on Saturday night, according to the sheriff’s office.

At about 8:45 p.m., 22-year-old Nathan Cole Jefcoat from Franklin County was driving toward Christiansburg on Route 8 near the intersection of Broad Shoals Road when he ran off the road and hit a tree, deputies said.

First responders attempted to save his life but he later died as a result of his injuries.
