A historic showdown ahead of Decision 2024.
The much-anticipated debate between President Joe Biden and Former President Trump is happening in just a few hours.
This is the first time the two presumptive major party nominees have met on stage since 2020.
The matchup will likely include critical issues like abortion access, the economy, and immigration. Candidates will have two minutes to answer questions and one minute for responses and rebuttals.
To curb the chaos, their microphones will be muted when it’s not their turn to speak, and there will be no studio audience.
“Questions and answers will be relatively short. So the premium will be put on soundbites, and on appearing to be responsive and articulate,” said Karen Hult, Virginia Tech political science professor.
No other debate in U.S. history has been held this early in the election cycle.
We spoke with 10 News Political Analyst Ed Lynch about the debate. You can view our interview below.
