Each season, the Virginia football program will award the 1.15.41 Memorial Fund scholarships to three team members who embody the qualities that Davis Jr, Chandler and Perry carried with them, the Virginia Athletics Foundation said.

“Lavel, Devin, and D’Sean were more than just three football players,” Tony Elliot, Head Coach of the UVA football team, said. “They were three young men whose spirit and lives have touched entire communities. This memorial scholarship fund is about making sure every player who puts on the Virginia uniform knows these three men will forever be a part of the Virginia Football family.”

According to the school, the first football game of the season is a designated UVA Strong game, to celebrate the lives lost, but the memorial fund will establish a way for their legacy to be present every day in the Virginia Football program.
