Three people were charged after a drug bust at an Alleghany County residence Monday, according to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office.
The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia State Police Tactical Team, executed a search warrant at 106 Bailey’s Road in Covington.

We’re told 50-year-old Shannon Cooper, 43-year-old Judy Barber, 61-year-old Patrick Webb, and a juvenile were present at the residence.
During the search, we’re told two suspicious devices were found, and VSP bomb and arson agents responded to x-ray the devices. One was empty, and the other was found to contain more drugs.
According to the sheriff’s office, authorities seized 318 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of heroin, one gram of crack cocaine, three grams of ecstasy, four handguns, numerous baggies for packing, scales, and $3,997 in U.S. currency.

Shannon Cooper:
- Obstructing justice, fleeing from a law enforcement officer
- Possess firearm by a convicted felon
- Possess firearm while possessing a controlled substance
- Possess with intent distribute methamphetamine over 100 grams
- Possess with intent distribute heroin over 10 grams
- Possess with intent distribute extasy/MDMA
- Possess with intent distribute cocaine
- Possess controlled paraphernalia
- Child endangerment
Judy Barber:
- Possess with intent distribute methamphetamine
- Possess with intent distribute heroin
- Possess with intent distribute cocaine
- Possess controlled paraphernalia
- Child endangerment
Patrick Webb:
- Possess controlled substance cocaine
- Possess firearm while in possession of a controlled substance
