DANVILLE, Va. – Changes are coming to Caesars Virginia in Danville ahead of the final completion date, now set for Dec. 31, 2024.
We’ve now learned the capitol investment has been raised from $400 million to $750 million, and the minimum number of employees has dropped from 1,300 to 900.
The new agreement includes combining the conference center and the entertainment venue into a large multipurpose space.
Caesars has also agreed to sell 24 acres of the property back to the city of Danville, which has plans to turn it into a park.
Ken Larking, the Danville city manager said an increase in construction costs after the pandemic can be credited for some of the changes.
City Council is set to vote on the new agreement Tuesday night.
