AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – All charges against a former Longwood police officer have been dismissed after he was charged with felony homicide alongside his girlfriend and her father.
The charges against David Christian originally stemmed from the killing of Kevin Hartless in the George Washington National Forest.
At the bond hearing in October, prosecutors said it was Christian’s gun used in the crime and he was driving.
10 news called Amherst County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney to learn why charges were dismissed and has not yet heard back.
At this time, Joseph Cunningham has charges that will go in front of a grand jury for first degree murder and use of firearm in a felony.
Online court records still show multiple charges for his daughter, Summer Cunningham, including murder. However, a court appearance is scheduled for March 19.
