On Saturday, crews were called to a house fire on General Longstreet Road. They were at the scene for around seven hours making sure the fire was out and were able to save half the structure.

Crews cleared the scene and were called back around 7:55 a.m. Sunday after the fire had rekindled, according to Brandon Martin, Henry County’s PIO.

Windy conditions caused the fire to spark back up, Martin said.

Crews worked to get the major fire out and continued to monitor hot spots.

We’re told the structure is now deemed a total loss and the investigation into the cause is still ongoing.

The damage estimate was not immediately available.
