As of Thursday afternoon, 18 people were killed and 13 others were wounded in the mass shooting at a bowling alley and bar.

The shooting caused schools, doctor’s offices, and grocery stores to close down in cities as far away as 50 miles.

Youngkin said flags shall be lowered immediately on Thursday, October 26, and remain at half-staff until sunset on Monday, October 30.

The Office of the Governor said the order applies to United States of America flags and the Commonwealth of Virginia flags over the state Capitol and all local, state, and federal buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth.

President Biden has also ordered U.S. Flags to be flown at half-staff.
