West End Center’s Spooky Sprint 5K raising money for kids in need

Grab your spookiest costume and your running shoes

ROANOKE, Va. – This weekend is the annual West End Center for Youth Spooky Sprint 5K!

Nearly 300 people are expected to run or walk in this year’s race at Wasena Park.

The event will feature costume contests with prizes, food from Scratched Biscuit, a bounce house, and face painting.

All the money raised helps the center provide after-school and full-day programming for kids in need.

“We provide it at a low-cost savings for all of our families so we are accessible and affordable at a time where after-school care is really difficult to obtain,” said Executive Director Karen Pillis.

The race kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday. To buy a ticket, click here.
