ROANOKE, Va. – The red, orange, and yellow colors are coming out, but local businesses are focusing on the green.
Tourists from all over come to our backyard to experience the fall season.
Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge told 10 News that October 2022 was their best month with occupancy numbers and lodging.
This year, they said they are currently ahead of pace and are on track to exceed last year’s numbers.
VBR officials said for the past 2 months, the three most visited pages on their website have all been related to fall. one being the fall events page that brings huge economic impacts to the Roanoke Valley.
“When people come here and visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge, they are staying in our hotels, eating at restaurants, paying to go visit museums, we see a very large economic boost from travel and especially fall travel,” Kathryn Lucas, director of public relations for Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge said.
With Roanoke being what they call a “Metro Mountain Town Destination,” it gives the Star City huge economic boosts during the fall season.
