PULASKI, Va. – Members with Calfee Community and Cultural Center are jumping for joy after breaking ground to renovate the facility.
It was known as the Calfee Training School and first opened its doors in Southwest Virginia as a school for African American children in 1894.
Dr. Mickey Hickman, the President of CCCC spoke about the significance of the facility and plans to turn it into a childcare facility and community kitchen.
