MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Martinsville police are investigating a homicide.
Police say around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, private citizens brought Nyjeon Dameae Brandon, 20, from Martinsville, to SOVAH Health Martinsville Emergency Room.

Investigators said Brandon had multiple gunshot wounds and died as a result of those injuries shortly after his arrival.
Detectives said the investigation revealed that the shooting took place while Brandon was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling in the 300 block of Commonwealth Boulevard.
The investigation is in its early stages as Detectives are collecting evidence and tracking down leads received from the public.
