PULASKI COUNTY, Va. – Legendary former Virginia Tech Football Head Coach Frank Beamer has been named as the Grand Marshal for the SRX Race in Pulaski County.
Beamer will conduct the start of the race, announcing drivers to start their engines.
Tourism leaders say Beamer’s presence will draw attention and viewership at an even larger level and will showcase Pulaski County as a national attraction.
“We’re excited to have these two worlds collide, the love for Hokie sports nation, as well as the love for motorsport racing, for this to come together in the New River Valley, we’re excited to have that opportunity,” Erika Tolbert the Assistant Tourism Director said.
The SRX Race will also be broadcasted live on ESPN on July 27.
