CAVE SPRING, Va. – Some people across our region are being impacted by the large amount of rain we’ve received already this week, and it seems like even more precipitation may be on the way.
Cave Spring resident Leanne Blatterman said her basement is prone to flooding, and she’s been working overtime to stop water from coming into her home.
Blatterman said she uses everything from a water vacuum to coverings and sheets to manage the water level.

“Batten down the hatches,” Blatterman said. “We’ve done everything we can do, and the rest is up to mother nature.”
Blatterman said her rain gauge in Cave Spring collected around 4 inches of rain within the past day.
