TROUTVILLE, Va. – A new playground was unveiled in Troutville Town Park on Monday, only this one’s for adults.
A ribbon cutting was held for the new senior fitness equipment on Monday.
The project was spearheaded by a couple of community members who saw a need: Dean Paderick, who recently passed of cancer, and Skeets Ulrich.
They wanted to give people a place to stay active and work out while watching their kids.
After fundraising for years, Ulrich said he’s happy to see it come to fruition.
“I hope it adds a healthier community,” Ulrich said. “Not only Troutville, but the entire county.”
Ulrich said the equipment is valued at over $40,000.
He said the project was made possible by grants, and private donations.
