PULASKI, Va. – The Calfee Community and Cultural Center is getting some federal funding.
Leaders with the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, a program from the National Trust for Historic Preservation awarded $50,000 to the Calfee Center.
The money will help develop Calfee’s African American Heritage Center’s central exhibit, “Quiet Courage: Chauncey Harmon, Percy Corbin, and the fight for educational equality in Pulaski, VA.”
Calfee is one of 40 sites to receive a total of $3.8 million in grant funding.
