Martinsville-Henry Co. SPCA holding ‘Pay What They Weigh’ campaign

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – The Martinsville-Henry County SPCA is trying to get even more animals adopted.

The organization is doing it through the “Pay What They Weigh” special, which started Tuesday and runs through Saturday. It’s part of the Tour for Life campaign with North Shore Animal League America.

Right now, the shelter is full and staff said they’ve had to turn people away because they don’t have space.

That’s why it’s important the community steps in to help.

“Sometimes it can help people who really have very loving homes but might not be able to afford the full adoption fee,” said Catherine Gupton, executive director of Martinsville-Henry County SPCA.

The special excludes puppies four months and younger.

The SPCA also plans to hold a Walk-in Wellness Clinic on Saturday.
