LYNCHBURG, Va. – A Lynchburg man has been arrested after a reported assault led to an hours-long standoff on Monday night, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

On Monday, March 6, around 11:30 p.m., police said they responded to the 1600 block of Pierce Street for a reported assault situation.
When officers got to the home, they found two women who claimed they were assaulted by a man they knew, LPD said.
Authorities said the women also reported that the man, later identified as 28-year-old Carroll Williams, had guns inside the home.
We’re told both women had minor injuries and were treated by crews with the Lynchburg Fire Department.
Police said that Williams was last seen inside a home and was barricaded in an attic. After five hours, officers said Williams was taken into custody without incident.
Once Williams was in custody, crews searched the home and found one firearm, according to LPD.
Police said Williams is now facing the following charges:
- Assault and battery,
- Domestic assault and battery,
- Violation of protective order,
- Violation of a protective order while committing an assault,
- Possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
Williams is now being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, authorities said.
We’re told that LPD’s Tactical Unit, Drone Team, Crisis Negotiations Team, and officers responded to the situation.
