FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – The Franklin County Humane Society has announced that its center will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday as some of its staff members go to the bond appeal hearing for a man accused of killing his dog. The hearing is set to take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Franklin County Circuit Court.
This comes after 58-year-old Terry Michel, the dog owner who confessed to killing his dogs, Caleb and Colby, was denied bond last Wednesday.

The judge cited concerns that Michel is unpredictable because of these alleged actions as well as concerns that he would not obey orders.

Michel’s wife, Rhonda Michel, told the judge that she was relieved by the decision, saying “I’m afraid if you let him out, I’m next.”
The adoption center says it hopes the decision made last week will be upheld.
“We hope the ruling from less than a week ago from Judge AJ Dudley will stand. And that Terry Michel will remain behind bars. The judge cited that Terry Michel is unpredictable,” the Franklin County Humane Society said on Facebook.
