SALEM, Va. – A ribbon cutting is highlighting the first of many new bank branches coming to our area.
The Ridge View Bank had its grand opening this morning at the Salem Smart Center.
The plan is to bring in new branches and generate hundreds of new jobs.
The bank tells us they are building a second location at Smith Mountain Lake, and are planning to have a third one in Roanoke this spring.
“What’s next for us is we currently have a branch, a smart center under construction at Smith Mountain Lake that will hopefully open around June of this year,” said Carrie McConnell, president of Ridge View Bank. “In the next couple of months, we will begin construction on our headquarters on Franklin Road in Roanoke. That’s gonna be about a 17,000-square-foot building.”
The bank is also giving two $2,500 checks to local charities to signal their arrival in the community.
