Man hospitalized after shooting on Hershberger Road in Northwest Roanoke, police say

The shooting happened on Super Bowl Sunday at about 6:30 p.m.

ROANOKE, Va. – A man was sent to the hospital after a shooting in Northwest Roanoke on Super Bowl Sunday, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

The shooting happened at about 6:30 p.m. in a neighborhood not far from Zaxby’s and Exxon on Hershberger Road, authorities say.

Police say they found the victim inside a home in the area and said he was transported to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

We’re told no suspects were located at the scene of the shooting and no arrests have been made.
