Pulaski County manhunt underway, neighbors ‘worried,’ ‘hoping for the best outcome’

The man allegedly stole a police car, tried to run over two officers, and is now on the run with a firearm

PULASKI, Va. – A manhunt continues in the New River Valley.

Several law enforcement agencies are searching for a man who they say is armed and dangerous.

We’re told he tried to steal a cop car and run over two police officers.

People in Pulaski said they have not seen such heavy police presence in the area, and hope the situation is resolved safely and quickly.

“We’ve seen some pretty wild stuff but nothing of this instant,” Ernie Draper, a Pulaski resident said.

Draper lives in the area and said he was worried about the well-being of others nearby.

“Just worried about my neighbors, their well-being,” Draper said.

On Thursday morning, police said they got a domestic violence call.

Authorities said a man, Jerrod Brown, was at the scene and stole a patrol car that had a weapon inside. He then tried to run over two officers.
