Franklin County girl donates money from her lemonade stand to local animal shelter

She used some of the funds to buy dog beds, which she also donated

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – A little girl in Franklin County is proving you’re never too young to give back.

Abby donated the money she raised at her lemonade stand to the Franklin County Humane Society Planned Pethood & Adoption Center. Abby also bought and donated two dog beds for the shelter.

The adoption center’s director, Anita Scott, said we could all learn a thing or two from Abby and no donation is too small.

“Follow her lead and start a movement,” said Scott. “We love how proud that she was when she came in here to bring that in.”

The shelter currently has 150 cats and 40 dogs up for adoption, and they are always in need of donations, both monetary and food. You can find out how to donate here.
