The Hokies racked up 232 total yards while the Hurricanes had 318.

“There’s signs of the teams we can be,” said Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry. “We have to look at and be accountable as coaches and players in every little area we can improve and be the player, coach, unit we can be.”

“I have to get the ball to our playmakers earlier,” said Hokies quarterback Grant Wells. “A lot of our playmakers are outside and good things happen when they have the ball outside.”

“We have to be more consistent and be better every play, " Pry added.

Virginia Tech falls to 2-5 and will head into its bye week before taking a Thursday night trip to North Carolina State on October 27.
