The purpose of the grants is to help people experiencing challenges from food insecurity, social isolation, and behavioral health issues, as well as support local health promotion and health literacy efforts, according to UnitedHealthcare.
Carilion Clinic in Roanoke is set to receive $230,000 as part of the donation, which UnitedHealthcare said they’ll use to introduce the Calm and Safe Classrooms counseling program.
The program provides solutions and support through a partnership with Fallon Park Elementary for students who struggle with managing emotions and behavior, the company said.
