Warm Hearth Village is a senior living home in Blacksburg. About one-third of residents are seniors who rely on low, fixed monthly incomes.
The program provides housing and healthcare assistance and helps to provide basic necessities.
Warm Hearth Foundation plans to use the money to purchase groceries for its food pantry, Micah’s Pantry.
“We are so thankful for the support we have received from Food Lion,” Karen Nelson, Associate Director of Development. “This gift will help us keep the shelves stocked in Micah’s Pantry and allow us to continue to serve seniors who rely on us for some of life’s most basic necessities. We could not meet the ongoing needs of our residents without support from organizations like the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation.”
Food Lion Feeds was established in 2001 and provides financial support for organizations that feed those in need in their community.
The foundation has provided over $15 million in grants so far.
