Days Inn on Orange Ave. in Roanoke is closing

The owner of the hotel said they have officially stopped taking reservations

ROANOKE, Va. – Another business is closing on Orange Avenue in Roanoke.

After Sheetz announced that they were relocating from their Williamson Road intersection, Days Inn just down the road announced that they are closing for good.

The Days Inn by Wyndham on Orange Avenue will be closing sometime during the week of Sept. 19.

The owner said the exact closing date hasn’t been decided, but they are no longer booking guests.

This closing has been a cause of concern for local businesses and residents.

Mayor Sherman Lea said that he hopes to see redevelopment at that location with new apartments or other housing options.

The owner of Days Inn spoke with 10 News on Wednesday, revealing their reasons for closing for good.
