DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police are crediting a student for saving lives after a gun was brought to school.
Officers said a 15-year-old boy had a weapon in his bookbag after a fight at George Washington High School on Tuesday, 10 News reported.
Police are pleased the student was familiar with the saying “see something, say something.”
“It’s one of the greatest things that can happen when you have an incident when someone is bringing a firearm to school grounds, having the potential of something happening later and stopping that act before it had a chance to is a great thing,” Lieutenant Eric Ellis with Danville Police said.
Investigators are looking to charge the teen with felony possession of a firearm on school grounds.
