ROANOKE, Va. – Get your wallets ready, this weekend is Tax-Free Weekend in Virginia.
You can even stock up on hurricane and emergency preparedness supplies at The Home Depot.
Things like backup generators under $1,000, plus flashlights, smoke detectors, and more under $60 will all be tax-free.
A Home Depot representative said being prepared is key.
“You want to make sure that you have that stuff on hand, ready to go,” said Pro Sales Manager Mark Rowland. “Because when disaster does strike, you have limited time sometimes to do the things you need to do, be safe.”
Other eligible shopping items include school supplies, along with clothing and footwear.
The tax-free holiday ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.
