ROANOKE, Va. – Volunteers and sponsors of this year’s “Home for Good” project braved the heat on Wednesday as work continues on our home.
The project brings together WSLS, Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley, community sponsors and volunteers to build a home for a local family.
The exterior walls of the home are up and crews have made a lot of progress since the build kicked off two weeks ago.
Volunteers from Bank of Botetourt, one of this year’s returning sponsors, were on hand on Wednesday to help with construction.
They said being invested in the community is what Bank of Botetourt is all about.
“We love to give back and this right here is our eighth year building with Habitat and we just love it,” said Marcus Wade, Business Relationship Officer with Bank of Botetourt. “We love the end product and to see a family receive a home, a very deserving family, so it means a lot to us because it’s at the core of who we are.”
This year’s homebuyer was also on site on Wednesday working to build his family’s home.
Construction of our “Home for Good” is expected to wrap up in the fall.
