No major injuries reported after HoneyTree bus overturns on I-581S in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. – Virginia State Police says 11 children were on board when a small HoneyTree bus overturned on I-581 south in Roanoke.

At about 12:18 p.m., the bus was going south on I-581 when a vehicle entered the Interstate at the Valley View Mall entrance ramp and cut the bus off.

In an effort to avoid hitting the vehicle, the bus wound up overturning onto its side in the median, according to State Police Troopers.

Authorities say the children were ages 5 to 10 years old. We’re told that none of the children needed medical assistance.

The children may be picked up at the South Roanoke Honeytree location.

The crash remains under investigation.
