ROANOKE, Va. – Community, business and civic leaders were honored on Friday during the Roanoke Branch NAACP’s 22nd Annual Citizen of the Year Awards. One of our own was even recognized.
It was a full house at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood as the NAACP recognized honorees for their contributions in several categories, including the arts, education, corporate work and humanitarian work.
WSLS’s own sports anchor, Eric Johnson, received the 2022 Citizen of the Year Award for media.
10 News anchor Brittny McGraw served as the emcee for Friday’s event.
