ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – The Roanoke County Police Department is sending a warning to residents about a man looking into occupied apartments in the Cave Spring area.

At 12:08 a.m., police were alerted by residents at the Pebble Creek and Honeywood Apartments that someone was peeping into occupied residences.

Authorities tried to make contact with the man but he ran away into the woods.

Police said he was later seen leaving the property in a blue Nissan Xterra.

The man is 6 feet tall, weighs about 200 pounds and has stubble on his face. He was also wearing a dark-colored hoodie and sweatpants, according to police.

The police department is asking residents to be aware of their surroundings for any suspicious activity.
