GIVE Roanoke aims to raise more than $100,000 for local nonprofits

GIVE Roanoke has raised over $22,000 since early giving started April 1

ROANOKE, Va. – Get ready to give on Wednesday with a new fundraiser for the Roanoke Valley. GIVE Roanoke is a 24-hour fundraiser that gives the community a chance to give back to local nonprofits. During the 24-hour period, donors can choose from more than 100 nonprofits and support organizations based in or doing work in the Roanoke Valley.

GIVE Roanoke has raised over $22,000 since early giving started on April 1. Donors can search for local nonprofits on the GIVE Roanoke web page.

“I have been working for this nonprofit for 20 years and I get to see all the good work that these organizations do in the community every day, so it is just really heartwarming to see the community giving back for all of the work,” said Alison Jorgensen, the vice president of planning at the Council of Community Services.

This fundraiser is fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. You can participate by using the #GIVERoanoke and follow along on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
