ROANOKE, Va. – The Roanoke City Council swore in its replacement for Robert Jeffrey Jr. on Monday afternoon.
Anita Price will fill the seat left vacant by Robert Jeffrey Jr.’s felony conviction of embezzlement and money crimes last month.
Price previously served on Roanoke City Council from July 1, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2020.
While Jeffrey’s term lasts until Dec. 31, 2024, Price will only serve on the council until Dec. 31, 2022.
As for who will serve the remaining two years? That will be decided by Roanoke City voters during November’s general election.
According to city council members, Price does not plan to run for election this November.
