BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – Multiple juveniles have been marked as suspects in connection to a string of vehicle thefts in Bedford County and Lynchburg, according to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say on Saturday the sheriff’s office received multiple reports of vehicle thefts in the Farmington subdivision in the Forest area of Bedford County.
Investigators confirm that between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m., the suspects stole money, gift cards, credit/debit cards, electronics and firearms from unlocked vehicles in the area.
After further investigation and collaborative efforts with the Lynchburg Police Department, officers determined that the suspects involved in this incident are also at the center of a vehicle theft investigation in the City of Lynchburg.
According to officers, a search warrant was obtained and served at a home in Lynchburg. While there, deputies were able to seize the property that was stolen in Bedford County and return them to its rightful owner.
The sheriff’s office says multiple juveniles have been identified as suspects in relation to the incident.
At this time, charges are pending as investigators work to determine the criminal responsibility of each suspect involved.
All residents in the Farmington subdivision with security or doorbell cameras are asked to review their surveillance footage between late Friday night and early Saturday morning and share any footage that may be relevant to this investigation.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office encourages all citizens to lock their vehicles to secure their belongings and advises citizens to avoid storing high-value items such as firearms and electronics in unlocked vehicles.
